Projects of the Monastery The 1550AD Church and Monastery of St John the Forerunner The heartfelt desire of the sisters is to see the restoration of the original church--with its precious frescoes--and monastery. It is a valuable historic and religious landmark for Greece and a pride for the area of Thessaly. But costs for its restoration are enormous and much beyond the means of the community. Any help for this worthwhile enterprise would be greatly appreciated. Completion of the Church of St Damianos / Adjoining Reception Area for Guests Much material and work is still needed for the completion of this project. Unfinished Areas in our Main Building :: One floor of half of our main building is without windows, doors, plaster, electricity, plumbing, heating, and flooring. :: Most of the rooms are without finished flooring. :: Additional roofing and new windows are need in many parts of the monastery to keep out the rain and wind. :: The guest facilities still need heating Donation Information Monetary Donations would be gladly received.
