Liturgical Life and Hospitality
The center of the life of an Orthodox monastic is the life of prayer,
both liturgical and private. Hence, the nuns observe the full cycle
of services daily. This includes Midnight Office, Mattins, First,
Third, Sixth and Ninth Hours, Vespers, and Compline as well as two
Supplicatory Canons and the Akathist Hymn to the Mother of God. |
Divine Liturgy is conducted regularly and begins at
7:45am.
Visitors are welcome to join in the services that occur during the
open hours of the monastery. Please contact them for further information.
The nuns offer hospitality to a wide range of visitors from Greece
and throughout the world, groups and individuals, Orthodox and non-Orthodox
thirsting to learn more about the faith, lay people and women desiring
to see if they too are called to devote their life to Christ.
In the past the monastery has also housed a variety of conferences
on Orthodoxy and monasticism, as well as on ecological stock-raising
and farming, and it continues to remain open to such opportunities.

Pilgrims and buses are welcome from the rising of
the sun to its setting. The monastery does have a limited number
of "summer" guest rooms for visitors wishing to stay overnight
or for several days.
The guest rooms are currently for the summer only, inasmuch as they
do not yet have heating. Interested persons or groups are requested
to contact the monastery for further information and availability. |
